Maçka parkı

I sat on a bench in Maçka parkı overlooking the expanses of trees and buildings, resting on a shaded stone bench when I noticed a group of three men across the walkway behind me, two dressed in business suits. They were crowded together and about 25 feet away they hadtired a line low between two trees. Balloons hung from the line, dangling just above the ground, and some empty plastic bottles were set up as well, staggered with the balloons.

The men took turns passing around a BB gun and doing target practice, while occassionally another couple of men (probably on lunch breaks or afternoons off) would saunter up to the group and laugh, chat, and shoot. Apparently this is common to find in parks and around Istanbul.

Meantime, there was also a man of about 60 who seeed to be very pleased with the little red remote controlled car he had zooming up and down the walkway.
